Are there separate courses for Class A Operators and Class B Operators?
No. The course for Class A and B Operators (i.e., Class A/B Operator Training) is one course designed for both types of operators. Essentially, the Class A and B operators need to know about 90% of the same information for their certification. Class B Operators need to have more knowledge of UST components and responsibility for Class C designation and training. However, in many instances, the Class A and B Operators are one and the same.   Back to Top
What is the classroom training like? Does it include an exam?
During our Class A/B Classroom Training, students will receive instruction from knowledgeable, experienced instructors and get answers to their site-specific questions on the spot. Class A/B Operators will gain insight into the world of confusing regulations and apply it to their everyday activities. Students will have the opportunity to engage in lively conversations with other tank owners/operators and learn from their experiences.

Class A/B Operators will fulfill their Class A/B Operator Certification upon completion of a brief exam (instructors can provide verbal exam for students that have difficulty taking written tests).

The typical classroom training schedule is as follows:
Check-in begins at 8:00 a.m.
Class begins at 9:00 a.m.

What is the online training like? Does it include an exam?
Our online, web-based training is user-friendly and very convenient for Class A/B and C Operators who do not have the time to attend classroom training and want to save on travel expenses. You can take the Class A/B and C class from anywhere, anytime and at your own pace.

The Petro Classroom Class A/B and C Operator training courses are designed with mini quizzes throughout the course content, so you learn a little and then take a quiz on the information you just learned. This format makes it easier to retain the information and successfully pass the quizzes. You must pass all the quizzes with an 80% in order to obtain your certification. If you fail a quiz, you can review the course content and take the quiz again.

Upon successful completion of the course, a "Certificate of Completion" will be issued as a downloadable PDF document.

The Class C online course takes approximately 30 minutes to complete, and the Class A/B online course consists of 8 chapters and takes approximately 4 hours to complete.   Back to Top
